A summer wedding at Old Gore by Yard Space
On a gorgeous sunny day in June, I was lucky enough to capture Lucy and Matt’s high energy sweet summer wedding at the incredible Old Gore by Yard Space. This venue quickly became a firm favourite for me with it’s cool quirks, delicious street food, stunning sunsets, photo opportunities and not to mention an iconic disco ball.
Lucy and Matt tie the knot at the modern Cotswolds old gore barn
Lucy and Matt, both got ready separately at Bibury Farm Barns in Cirencester which is an amazing big open space flooded with natural light just down the road. As well as some gorgeous emotive ‘first look’ photos with the bridal party, there was also an vintage Jaguar car which was an epic way to start the photography off. We then all headed to Old Gore Barn for an intimate ceremony, Lucy wore an Made With Love dress and just looked incredible walking down the isle. Matt also looked very stylish in his Suit Supply suit.
Relaxed sunny reception vibes
After confetti and some quick family photographs, the guests enjoyed delicious canapés and drinks outside in the sunshine. This is one of my favourite parts of the wedding day, so much to capture! During the drinks reception there was also time to capture candids which included lots of hugs and giggles amongst Lucy and Matt’s nearest and dearest. I was also able to photograph the intricate and thoughtful details of Old Gore before everyone headed inside for dinner. Old Gore is known for it’s delicious street food which everyone, including me got to enjoy! Emotions were running high for the heartfelt and funny speeches which were incredibly meaningful to photograph.
relaxed Golden sunset photos and disco ball dancing
Early evening summers evenings are just the dream, and as the sun set over the Barn, there was a relaxed loving atmosphere. I was able to capture Lucy and Matt’s epic big wedding party. I love getting the chance to do these photos later in the day. Everyone was down for some fun and we got the opportunity to have a laugh together, rather than anything feeling too formal. Then, after the stack fulls of doughnuts and cake cutting it was party time!
Dancing under the disco ball, the newlyweds kicked things off with their first dance to Bombay Bicycle Club (very cool!) and set the tone for the high energy dance floor. Another amazing thing about Old Gore is there is so much variety in the space for photos. So I carefully watched the light and choose a moment to sneak Lucy and Matt off for some relaxed fun couple portraits at sunset with a sky full of orange and pink hues. I ended the day as one very happy wedding photographer after the most epic wedding for such a kind fun loving couple!
